What to Expect

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES

ย 8:15 a.m. Traditional Service โ€“ A liturgical service led by our Pastor that includes Scripture readings and hymns accompanied by organ music. A regular order of worship is used. The Lordโ€™s Supper (Holy Communion) is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of the month.

ย 10:45 a.m. Praise Service - A contemporary service led jointly by our Pastor and a music leader/worship team. The service is less formal and uses contemporary language. Music and praise songs are accompanied by keyboard, guitar and drums. The Lordโ€™s Supper (Holy Communion) is celebrated on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

ย 9:35 a.m. Sunday School - Preschool through high school classes are held each Sunday. Adult classes are also offered during this time between the worship services. An adult inquiry class, led by Pastor, is available for anyone who wants to learn more about the Lutheran faith or become a member of Memorial Lutheran Church.

FIRST TIME VISITORS

Our parking lot is located on the west side of the Church between East 28th and 29th Street. From the parking lot, follow the sidewalks east toward Grand Blvd to the entrance doors (double door on the south side and a single door on the north side). These doors lead to the Narthex (lobby) area behind the Sanctuary.

Upon entering the Narthex, you will be welcomed by a greeter/usher and given a worship folder. The folder contains the order of the worship service along with announcements about ministries / activities / programs at Memorial Lutheran. Large print worship folders and activity sheets for children are also available upon request.

Pastor will welcome our guests during the service, but you will not be singled out or expected to introduce yourself to the congregation. Please introduce yourself to Pastor after the service as you leave the Sanctuary. During the service there is an opportunity for everyone to stand and greet the people around them.

We hope your worship experience with us is meaningful and that you feel welcome in the house of the Lord!

Following the service, coffee and treats are available in the Fireside Room (near the front of the Sanctuary, on the right, behind the folding curtain). The Fireside Room is a good place to meet some of our members, ask for directions to a Sunday School class, or find out more about Memorial and the ministries of the congregation.
